Employee Spotlight: Matt Maner
Position: Paramedic
Division: Hot Springs, AR
Matt first joined the LifeNet family in 2014 as an EMT. In October of that year, he earned his paramedic certification and stepped into that role. He currently serves our Hot Springs Division as a Field Training Officer.
“I initially got into EMT school so I could work in the ER at the hospital as a tech. After my first clinical in the ambulance, EMS got in my blood, and I haven’t looked back. I went on to paramedic school and can honestly say that I love what I do,” said Matt. “Seeing the people I have helped in public and knowing that I made a difference on what could have been the worst day of their life is what I enjoy most about my career.”
Matt also appreciates getting to work at LifeNet.
“I enjoy the people I work with because they are one of a kind, and the same can be said about LifeNet. I know that years from now I’ll look back and think ‘Those were the days’,” he said.
For others considering a career in EMS, Matt offers this advice: “Don’t expect what Hollywood has portrayed this job to be. It’s not always adrenaline and chaos.”
When Matt isn’t working, he enjoys being outdoors, spending time with family, and supporting his kids at their various games or events.
